Now on to the deets. I used the outline leaf die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and cut through the center of my card front. I took my bone folder and smoothed out around the cut. I used the outline leaf image from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and embossed it on a window sheet that I attached behind my leaf cut out. Doesn't it look like stained glass leading?
At this point I took a scrap piece of white card stock and used the solid leaf image from the stamp set and some finger daubers with some Cajun Craze, Real Red, and Tangerine Tango. I used the daubers to put on the ink and blend it into the stamp to get this mottled look.
At this point it looked so beautiful I was hesitant to add a sentiment and risk ruining it. It is so gorgeous. Lately I have jumped from Christmas, to spring, back to Christmas, and now fall. After seeing the results I got here I think I might have to stick with fall for a while. After setting it down and coming back to it a hundred times over the course of the day, it finally occurred to me how to add my sentiment. I pulled out the Sheltering Tree stamp set and pulled the thankful stamp. I gold heat embossed it over vellum.
I just can't get over how stinking beautiful this all turned out. The sheltering tree set has a wonderfully fantastic font. As you can see, I ended up doing a torn edge on my vellum to add a little bit of rustic charm. It just didn't look right going straight across. I included just a little finishing touch of linen thread and wala.
Here is the challenge inspiration photo. It was my first time participating in the GDP. Do you think I hit the challenge?
