Freshly Made #404
After taking almost a year off I have two for you today. I did some freehand loose watercolor flowers for Freshly Made Sketches #404. Let's take a look:

Freshly Made #357
Today's inspiration is courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches. I'll be honest, I struggled (a lot) with this vertical sentiment. I didn't think it would ever come together but in the end I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Let's check it out:
I heat embossed the feathers in black and then used my Japanese traditional watercolor markers and an aqua painter to color them . They turned out amazingly vibrant. I broke out my Stampin' Up subtle dynamic embossing folder to give my black layer this awesome texture.

Freshly Made Watercolor Card
Today's inspiration share is courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches. Let's see what I came up with for challenge #FMS331:
For this challenge I did a simple wash with sky blue Peerless water color onto some scrap Bristol water color paper, I also used Peerless dark green on a larger sheet to make my die cut. I used a gold gel pen to draw in the veining. It is quite a clean layout. By the way, the sentiment is from the March 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit. I just loved it! Apparently my cat did too because she decided she wanted to help me paint, and now she has green paws the little stinker.

Die Cuts With a View + Freshly Made #329
Here we are with an inspiration share courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches! Let's check it out:
Here's your crafty tip: Give your backgrounds some texture using nothing more than your scoreboard. I gave this card a textured waffle weave background using my scoreboard and then I used the Stampin' Up Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits to cut out the dragonfly from the front of my panel. The other day I was working on some alcohol ink paintings and I had some left over scraps. You know how we crafters are, never throw anything away right? You never know when you can use it on another project.
Because I cut the dragonfly from the panel, instead of cutting the shape to place on top of the panel, I was able to slip my painting under the matte and move it around until I found the perfect placement for it. Now we have a die cut with a view! It's hard to pick up in photo but that waffle weave texture is just to die for.
I think this color combo is so striking. I may have to use that again, I might just happen to have another piece of that alcohol ink painting lying around after all!

Paper Pumpkin and Freshly Made #323 + How to Adhere Vellum
Here we are again for another inspiration share courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches. This week I used my January 2018 Paper Pumpkin to make an alternate project and came up with this:
The only thing I added to the kit was a piece of black card stock and some ink. All things most of us generally always have on hand. Paper Pumpkin Kits are so versatile you would be amazed. Last week I shared a money saving ribbon hack that I used to color my white ribbon from the kit.
Here's your crafty trick for adhering vellum when you don't want the glue to show: I bought a small xyron sticker maker a while back because I thought it was just what I needed to attach small and intricate die cuts to my cards, and I was right. It's perfect, but I also realized it was perfect for attaching vellum. Sometimes it isn't always ideal in your design to have a place to hide your glue dots.
Look at how flawless it comes out. Securely attached and not even a hint of glue. It was definitely worth my $6 investment. My mother bought me the larger Xyron Creative Station for Christmas that I plan to use for doing large and intricate die cut panels that go on card fronts. There is nothing more annoying than trying to trace your glue bottle around those intricate details, you always get it seeping out once you place the panel down on your card front.

Freshly Made #322 + Tie-Dyed Elements
I'm so happy to get back to doing challenges. Today my crafty inspiration is courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches.
Is he not the most adorable little peep you've ever seen? And yes, I know, it's crazy we are thinking about Easter already! I heat embossed the "peep" (I think it is so funny to say that word out loud) in white and I watercolored him in orange and yellow to get that fun tie-dyed look. Inside the window I used spun sugar distress ink for the ombre background.
I just loved this card, and I have to say that I am so into the gingham right now. I added some fun foam under the designer paper for some dimension. So stinking cute right? I would like to add that you are all my kind of peeps!
I hope you enjoyed this crafty little sketch inspiration! I am always so pleased with myself when a card this stinking cute comes together so quickly. It is such a cute universal design that can be adapted to any products you may have on hand.

Freshly Made #305
Sometimes you just have to let your paper do all of the work. I'm back with another card inspiration courtesy of Freshly Made Sketches.
My whole design is based around my designer paper, which is awesomely rustic. The embellishments and sentiment are mere icing on the cake so to speak. Honestly, I think the entire card front in nothing more than the designer paper would have been awesome all by itself.
This design is totally masculine, yet giftable to anyone. No froufrou included! I really enjoy the trend of rustic, shabby chic, industrial types of looks. Let your inspiration run free.
I'd love to here what your favorite tips and tricks are for rustic designing. Inquiring minds want to know, please share!

Freshly Made #302
Today we are playing in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, #302. I have made it my mission to become a master at masculine cards and I think my take on this sketch fits the bill.
It has been a long weekend of creating. I have had this card done for a few days but couldn't manage to get around to photographing it. I don't k now about you, by I find photographing a daunting task sometimes. My creative space gets seriously overrun when I'm on a mission and it takes a lot of work to get my Photo Booth set up it seems like.
Here is the challenge sketch for this week.
For this card I used the Christmas Quilt stamp set, Quilt Builder Framelits, and Quilted Christmas designer paper. All from the upcoming holiday catalog.
Then I had the idea to get some texture into my little Christmas tree, so I hauled out my Seaside embossing folder and gave it a shot. I think it turned out perfect!
It still needed something else, apparently I have a hard time holding back the froufrou, so to keep the rustic Christmas theme I found this linen thread in my stash.
I've been on a roll with Christmas cards lately for some reason and we haven't even made it to Halloween yet. I need to shift gears for a little while, but new product is so much fun.

Freshly Made #301
This week I came up with this cute little card for another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
But I figured hey, since I'm making one, why not make five! I love making sets with such beautiful designer paper that comes in color packs. This paper is from the Fresh Florals 12x12 paper stacks in the 2017-2019 Stampin' Up In Colors.
The sentiment came from Dragonfly Dreams. I think this sentiment is so versatile. You can have a stack of these on hand to use for any occasion. To a wonderful friend.... on her birthday, with sympathy, just because, or for all you do. Just to name a few. Put anything on the inside of the card to follow that and it is a go to.
Just to show you how well everything is planned out to coordinate together with Stampin' Up, the butterfly is actually made up from two different thinlit sets. They perfectly fit together don't you think? The solid bottom piece of the butterfly is from the Butterflies Thinlits set and the decorative black top is from the Bold Butterfly Framelits.
I didn't stop here though. When these new colors came out I didn't think I would have much use for the Lemon Lime Twist but once I had it in my hot little hand I can't get enough. So to complete my set I also used a leftover piece of the paper in lemon lime to make a matching pen!
I just love how this turned out, how about you?
